1. Kick-off new project
We
are very happy to announce the European Commission accepted
our newly proposed project “Sports and Physical Activity
for persons with Disabilities: Awareness, Understanding, Action”
under the Joint Actions call for Action. This project will
run for 2 years. The main objective of this project is to
motivate children and youngsters with a disability to take
full participation in adapted physical activities and sports
at all levels. Ultimately, the objective is to promote sports
and physical activity as a mean eradicate discrimination and
unequal treatment of people with disabilities in their personal
and professional life.

2. First Project Forum in Paris, 10-13/03/2005
On the 10th of March, the key-persons of all official partners
gathered in Paris for the first official project forum of
this project, 22 persons from 15 partner countries attended
the meeting. On this meeting, the work strategies for the
next year were defined. All information on the content of
this meeting can be found in the Minutes
of the meeting (pdf).
3. Database examples of Good Practice
On the first project meeting, all partners decided a series
of examples
of good practice from each country would be an indispensable
tool in the design of two of our most important products.
Both in the educational kit for teachers and coaches and on
the motivational CD-ROM for children, well-illustrated examples
of good practice will be an indispensable tool to guide children
and professionals through the process of integration through
sports.
In this
document, you can find the examples of good practice that
where proposed by each country. Full description and visual
materials will be provided by the next forum.
4. Proposal next forum Cagliari
Anna Bianco, Italian key-person proposed to organise the
next project forum in Cagliari, Italy on 19th to 23rd of October.
